Like our other machining operations, Gen-Tech Precision Machining specializes in complex machined parts. You can enjoy precision grinding services for high demanding projects. We offer cylindrical, surface, or rotary surface grinding services.
Focusing on accuracy and used across a diverse range of industries, precision grinding provides an effective method to the finishing of metal parts with very tight tolerances. It is typically used as the one of final machining processes on a part. Precision grinding uses a rotating abrasive wheel to remove material. There are a number of techniques that fall under this category, including surface and cylindrical, that are utilized for different parts. Where metal parts have close and tight tolerances, it is used to achieve a high surface quality finish.
We have multiple hand operated grinders, OD grinders, surface grinders, and rotary surface (Blanchard) grinders for high tolerance parts for a mirror-like surface finish, while meeting flatness, parallelism, and squareness requirements.
When your parts require a high degree of flatness, a high degree of parallelism, tight tolerances, or an excellent surface finish you can rely on our services. For industries that have little margin of error, such as parts used in medical equipment, scientific instruments, and aerospace agencies, this accuracy is very important. We offer OD grinding and surface grinding including rotary surface grinding.
OD Grinding is for creating a true round between centers. Utilized for the grinding of multiple diameter shafts and parts where concentricity to the center line or concentricity between one or more diameters is important.
Rotary Surface (Blanchard) grinding is used to efficiently remove stock from one side of material with a large surface area. It is a far more economical process than precision grinding. As a result, Blanchard grinding is best suited for larger pieces such as castings, dies, or flat stock.
